Festa Dei Ceri – The Race of the Candles in Gubbio
The most important day of the year in our local town of Gubbio. Three teams of muscular guys dressed in white pants and either Gold, Black or Blue shirts enact the centuries old “Race of the Candles” or “Festa Dei Ceri”. The Corsa begins in the morning with the raising or “Alzata” and follows a route around the historic centre before the dramatic evening race to the top of the hill behind the town. The Festa is steeped in tradition and sweat, it is a must see event. Book now for 2019
